Google AdSense - How It Helps The Surfer

Google AdSense is known as a program that helps website owners to earn some income by displaying ads on their websites by Google with Google sharing a part of the ad revenue earned by it. But this program has another side that helps the surfers to find what they want quickly. When a surfer visits a content site after typing a searching phrase in Google, he is presented with some ads relating to the area of his search. If the surfer is in need of a product and is inclined to make an online purchase, he can complete the purchase quickly.

There are two ways of looking at advertisements. An advertisement is often perceived as a message soliciting business. This is a narrow perspective. The correct perspective is to look at advertisements as sources of information. Ads are also often educative. When we watch a TV program, we are sometimes irritated by the commercials, perceiving them as nuisance and interference. Apart from the fact that TV viewers are able to view a large number of programs free only due to the revenue generated by the commercials telecast, commercials also give us a lot of information. How many times have you learnt about a new product that would offer a solution to a problem you are facing, through the commercials? We also get to know a lot of details about different products, make comparisons and take a well informed decision on buying a product.

AdSense ads also have a similar function. Let us say someone is concerned with reducing his weight. So he looks for information on weight loss. As he reads through a website offering some advice on weight loss, he also has a chance to look at a simple ad describing a weight loss solution. By clicking the ad and going through the product information, he gets more information. He may or may not buy the product advertised. But clicking through the ad gives him some knowledge.

With the progress of internet, more and more people have started using the internet for doing online transactions like online banking, buying products etc. To cater to the needs of these people, a large number of e-commerce websites have come up. But a surfer may not be able to reach most of these sites unless they are presented to him. This is done by Google AdSense. It is also a fact that many content rich sites are put up on the net only for the purpose of earning AdSense revenue. With Google being very strict on the quality of content, website owners take care to see that they fill their websites with relevant and valuable content. People who search for information get a chance to have this information free. Thus Google AdSense benefits surfers by indirectly helping them get valuable information free.
